5 Reasons Why SEO Is a Continuous Process

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can help a website ranking in search engine results. Nevertheless, it is a continuous process and not a one-time activity.  Although a quick one-time SEO fix may help, it will not yield long-term results. An ongoing SEO strategy and process  can respond to marketplace changes, and help sustain the website’s good ranking.

It is important to have a continuous and regularly-maintained Search Engine Optimization campaign. Here’s why:

1.       Competitors Continuously Perform SEO: Thousands of websites vie for ranking in the first few pages of search engines. Hundreds of  businesses in the same geographic area may be targeting the same visitors as well as promoting similar services. Thus, it is very possible that many of those thousands are using their own SEO tools and services to boost their ranking in search engines.

2.       Search Engines Continuously Change Algorithms:  As websites strive to increase ranking through various processes, search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing are persistently evolving and  updating on how they evaluate and rank websites in their search results.

3.       Continuous SEO Maintains Page Rankings:  A website’s  high ranking within search engine results depend largely on how its SEO activities are conducted. A study found that  when a website discontinues its SEO campaign, its ranking drops by 30%. On the other hand, websites with continuous SEO campaigns are able to acquire an 18% increase in their search engine ranking.

4.       Online Marketplace Is Continuously Growing: With the rapid growth of technology, new gadgets, products, programs, and services, online users explore their search using new sets of keywords, or variations of existing ones. The keywords used at launch may have produced good SEO results then, but may not have a great impact after some time, given the changes in online markets.

5.       Changes in Search  Engine User Behavior: Search engine users are constantly evolving and adjusting in the way they search for their products or services.  The key for them is to get quick results. Therefore, they use every possible format of keywords. A popular keyword phrase from the past may not have the same effectiveness today.

SEO strategy that is always evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of the online marketplace is the only key to a website’s continuous good ranking.
